The term "classic car" can quickly be lost in translation. While some
entities, such as the Classic Car Club of America, define the classic
car as a vehicle built between 1925 and 1948, the Antique Automobile
Club of America defines such vehicles as antiques. Many DMVs define the
classic vehicle as any vehicle entering the beginning of its 26th year.
Still, some insurance companies define these vehicles as those 15 years
old or older.

Mr. Don Baisley posted on Facebook yesterday on the success of the first-ever Antique & Classic Car Show at Maryknoll.
According to Don (I was at the Korean church and unable to attend) the show attracted 207 exhibited cars and 2,000 visitors!
I know everyone was nervous in the days leading up to the show with the very unsettled weather pattern we've been in all week. This influences not only classic car owners, but of course families who might be averse to thunderstorms.
Luckily the weather held and the cars and crowds came.
Maryknollers were on hand to greet people and show them around the museum, chapel, gift shop etc.
But the bulk of the work was done by Maryknoll employees who volunteered countless hours to help make this a success.

Producers have added a “Preview Night”
on Friday, September 9, on Industrial Street, just east of the
Square. From 6-8:30 pm, car and motorcycle enthusiasts can catch a sneak
peek of some of the premier classics and hot rods and cast a vote for
the “People’s Choice” Award. All awards are presented on Saturday
afternoon at the show’s closing.
“Our historic downtown is authentic and it cannot be duplicated. This event highlights downtown in a unique way that truly captures the treasures of Denton’s past and present,” said Larry Parker, DMSA president. “What a perfect way to spend a day in Denton: immersed in history all day and then on the cutting edge of new the same evening when UNT’s Mean Green takes the field for the very first time in brand new Apogee Stadium. A historic day all the way around.”

From June 23 to 26, 2011, there were four days of
partying in Águas de Lindóia, Sao Paulo. Occasion was the most
anticipated event by collectors in all of Brazil, from the very North to
the South. The beautiful Adhemar de Barros square and surroundings had
been transformed into a huge exhibit hall for 750 registered rare cars,
attracting crowds of more than 300,000.
Rarities included national, European and American
car brands, trucks, military vehicles and fiber-made. Highlights among
the many rarities presented was a special collection of Rolls Royce,
celebrating a brand with more than 105 years of automotive history. 20
examples of that marque graced the exhibition with glamour and charm.
